CONVEYING EQUIPMENT
An optical sorter conveyor in waste facilities is an advanced material separation system designed to identify and sort recyclables such as plastics, paper, metals, and other materials with high precision. The system uses a combination of high-speed cameras, infrared sensors, near-infrared (NIR) technology, and other optical sensors to detect differences in color, shape, size, and material composition. As waste moves along the conveyor, the sensors analyze each item in real time. When a target material is detected, precise air jets or mechanical actuators divert it into designated collection bins, separating it from the main waste stream. This technology enables high-purity sorting, reduces contamination, and improves the efficiency of downstream recycling processes. Optical sorter conveyors are especially effective in mixed plastic and paper recycling lines, PET processing facilities, and other modern waste-to-value operations, where accuracy and throughput are critical.
