SORTING PLANTS

PET – PET Sorting Plants

PET sorting facilities classify plastic waste based on polymer type and color, resulting in high-purity recycled output suitable for reprocessing. This process minimizes the environmental burden of plastic waste and lowers reliance on new raw materials.

4 Key Steps in PET Sorting Process

  • 1.Collection and transportation: Plastic waste (usually PET bottles) is collected from various sources and transported to the facility for processing.
  • Sorting and pre-cleaning: Collected waste is separated according to color, density, and type. At this stage, foreign materials (lid, label, metal parts) and dirt are also cleaned.
  • Shredding and washing: Separated PET waste is turned into small pieces. Where the shredded PET is washed with hot water and various cleaning solutions to remove sticky residues, oils, and other dirt.
  • Drying and Storing: Cleaned and separated PET pieces are dried and then packaged into big bags.
